The Floriade

The day started off with an early morning drive to Goulburn for the typical south drive bfast.
Maccas was on the menu with the bacon & egg mc muffin.. yum!
Un-known to me, the guys threw me a surprise "party" i guess you could call it?? they baked me cupcakes ... of fish as well!!! thanks e & m :)

The dust was unsettled still in syd but cleared up along the way.... after 3 hrs drive, battling the echo with nature, we finally got there to find this!

Some tai chee stuff.. and there was a white man doing it hahah...
+ we also saw this...It was a nice sight.. quite bright and cheery, but then rain kicked in.. so did the wind.. so did the coldness... agh. it was freezing.. i wish i was dressed like this kid.. So we walked.. talked took more photos
I really cant believe how awesome the colours are... God's creation... amazing
Pity that the dust storm had visited canberra as well.. you could fully see it all over the plants!

It turned out to be a great day besides the weather, the rain, the cold and numbness factor and the really really girly theme for the day.. but truly the company you do travel with makes the difference. thanks for the surprise guys really did enjoy the cupcakes! SUGAR HIT YO!
a tribute to e with her 2 eyes open technique... i like your style

On the weekend was Ben & Evan's Wedding.
i think i made the wrong move by sitting in the second row from the front...whoops, for some reason all these white people sat there, i think it was meant to be a row for the family ><>anyways, was really good ceremony, short, sharp and to the point, great msg uncle D!

Got to catch with some people that i havent seen in a long time
G-man with our "bombardiers" (No idea that the presents were called such things?!?!)

Good food (too hungry to take pics of the rest of it hahah)
I actually dont have a good pic of the couple :( my bad

drift australia

On the weekend B took me to see the comp drift australia, which also included the comp super drift.
There was a Team Jesus.. represent yo!
I was shocked to see the entry speeds that the cars take into the corners, absolutely crazy! i think they are going at least 100+kmph into the corners and just sliding through +chewing up multiple tyres
these cars only have the slightest camber wear.... NOT
We also went in the hope we would score a drift car in the comp that they were running... but to our dissapointment, we didnt :(

However we did score free rockstar energy drinks :)

the noise, the fans, the sun, the rain. it was a great day!

D70

Borrowed the bro's D70 the other day. Its actually quite hard hahaha.. not that i thought it was going to be heaps easy to use. But maybe its just the screen size?? the G10's screen gives you alot more viewing space to see the quality and lighting of the actual picture...

hmmm or maybe i just dont know how to use it?? haha what a n00b.

i really need to find different subjects to shoot -_-

Friday Mail

I can home today i found this had arrived addressed to me

i was thinking... mushrooms, errrr chinese mushrooms.. ewww
open the pen knife for some careful incisions and i found this!

yay my prize had arrived. A while ago i entered a competition on Billy Law's Blog re: Mr Tean's Competition. The instructions were to answer the following question:
“What is your favorite Malaysian food and why?”
So i answered the above with some consultation from K (thanks for the malaysian input)
I love my Black Hokkien Mee
it sets my taste buds free
i crave and cry "where got?"
only in KL i find... Damn Shiok!
i thought that i answered the question quite skillfully, possibly better than anyone else...not only combining the simple rhyming conventions that one learns from early primary/pre-school but with the wittiness of the malaysian slang!
(im only joking by the way.. these blogs done really convey sarcasm well)
Anyways im very happy with the outcome of the "random number generator" results (which made me one of 4 winners :) yay!)
Go randomness
hopefully ill be able to cook up a malaysian storm soon :) Wah Lau!

Farewell J

J has decided on a new direction for a while learning Mando in Beijing (Beiiiiijinggggg man...*in J's ultra high voice*). So we had a farewell for him on the weekend.
And what a weekend it was.

filled with laughter, friends, food, maccas x 2 and money! haha
I'll miss ya buddy. Thanks for all the laughs we've had over the past years (more laughing at you than with you..jks) but will truly miss your presence here in Syd.
You're an awesome friend, comedian and brother, Godspeed in the time ahead and see you in BEIJING MAN!!!!

Another kind of racer

Racer or ricer?
I wanted to start getting into road after watching tour de france and was just really curious how it was to ride with a bike less than 10Kgs and minimal rolling resistence
Was thinking of picking up a Trek 1400 full 105 groupset, but then i actually stumbled across a real bargain. Although this baby isnt Dura-ace i think it will do for the time being. So i picked it up the other week, frame pretty much brand new i only can find 2 scratches on the whole bike, just needs a service.

Not only has the bike hardly been used, but it came with this wireless trip clock! i went into the shop RRP $100... wow.. not bad eh? Wireless comp + clip ins = i thought was begging to be taken (though i think i might have been biased (but i dont even have the clip in shoes??!?) still want! haha)

anyways.. i want to try and find a local ride that i can continually do, time myself and see how much i can beat it by each time. So i tried the track @ lane cove Nat park. its a nice ride... but super bumpy.. consequently im re-thinking if this should be my "home track"

my time, casually riden for the first time
know any good rides??

oh oooo.. CoCo

For some reason my car got massively dirty and nasty over the past week.

its probably a combo of track + spring pollen + stupidly light rain (which doesnt really clean the car, but rather spreads the dirt out more)+ hwy driving (bugs etc etc)
=
&.. So with a little elbow grease and turtle wax...

Woodfired

Last night a couple of us went to Crinitis, a "southern italian cusine"
all i can say of last night i was super super full!

Entrees were the chilli crusts, the funny thing was we were too hungry and i forgot to take pics haha.. so this is the remainder of the tomato and olive paste (Olive Paste FTW!!!)
Mains were our 50cm pizza half and half (again too hungry to rememeber to take pics of the salmone pasta.. oh well) Desert was this mega rich, thick nutella pizza. tasty but on a full stomach, we all couldnt finish. This probably equates to one table spoon of nutella PER BITE!
thanks for dinner guys + S & H for the lift :)
