Clovelly

On sat a couple of us (H, J and V-dawg) went down to Clovelly for a dip... PERFECT conditions..
the sun was out, water was refreshing.. ahh... Got the snorkle kit out.. above my retro 80s snorkle haha.. and fins (thanks J!)
got to check out "bluely" the blue groper.. and there were these cool schools of garfish around

Just chilling...

after snorkling.. for some reason it makes you really tired... although i dont sun bake.. i think i could have lay there for hours....

nothing but blue skies...

After snorkling we headed to chong hing for dinner.. SP chicken wings, honey peppered pork and XO beans.. yum!!!!!

coincidentally there was happy feet showing @ the outdoor cinema which we caught as well... they had a great little set up going...

that was a nice day :)

Waqu

For parents very very belated christmas present (lol) i took them to waqu in crows nest.. for 5 course meal it was $55.. not bad...

Nice decor.. i got one of these chopsticks for my gma in china... 2 RMB... $0.30cents AUD haha..

This was the asparagus and carrot short cake 7/10.. and behind it was the spicy softshell crab taco 7.5/10

Mum and dad both got the pork.. i had some but it wasnt as tender as my lamb

Green tea ice cream, red bean mousse and pannacotta 7/10

It was a good dinner.. but i think last time i went, i think it was alot better.. hmmm not sure.. maybe it was just the summer menu... bring on autumn!

MJ had a small din din @ Kika .. a tapas bar in darlinghurst.. not too shabby at all. was great to meet you J and T, hopefully we'll see each other soon :)

I ripped this photo from MJ (thanks!!!) firstly.. my 50mm would have made me stand across the road to take this picture.. and secondly i was eating my fro yo.. hahah... It was this cozy little corner restaurant... however.. it was like the WORST restaurant to take photos.. dim lighting meant iso bumped up the 3200 haha.. actually you cant really tell the amount of noise from the pics on blogspot.. bad quality anyways..

UFC 110

On sunday j, b and i headed to watch some UFC action...
seats didnt cost us a bomb, but it wasnt that close either. When they were stand up.. all could be seen, however when it got to the ground, we had to turn to the big screens. Was really good to see the action :)

Singapore

Prior to kapalai i went to singapore for a couple of days...the intention was to spend sometime with the gma.. and EAT!!!
Planning the holiday on a budget i ended up taking a one way flight to spore via jetstar.. it was around $400 one way.. not too bad.. but no in flight entertainment/food/blanket etc... i roughed it out haha

MY inflight entertainment... got through around 3/4 of the book on the way there.. due to a stop over in darwin... So i hung out with Gma...shes getting quite interesting these days.. forgetting people, what shes done etc.. i gues that all comes with getting old :S but shes 95 and going strong!

I also met up with MJ.. she was kind enough to take me on a photo excursion through little india.. The colour scheme of the buildings my quite interesting back drops

I ended up eating sooo much.. like 5 times a day.. and i was like NEVER hungry!.... i miss singapore already... wish i was back... eating haha..

CBB....

Geeze holidays seemed so far away... and this is my first post since :S
not sure why, maybe just CBB? too many things to do.. people to see (jokes.. no one to see).
Came back from holidays 2 weeks ago (feels like 2 months ago

Was on a small holiday around asia... Singapore, Malaysia & Beijing to be specific..

anyways... on with the blog.. in no specific order....

K, E and myself went to Kapalai... a small dive resort off the coast of Tawau.. what a great place it was! E got us some cheap rates (you rock!!!) so why not?
Buffet meals 3 times a day! who could complain with that.. just wait till you see the water...

we flew from singapore to Tawau ... air asia.. stupid non reclinable seats!

We went for 2 nights 3 days... it took a 40 min boat ride from the coast to get there...Greated by blue skies and perfect weather!

Just looking @ these pics makes me want to go back....
the vilas were all built over water.. the only land was @ low tide.. where they had a "man made island"

one morning i randomly woke up really really early.. not sure what time it was.. but i saw a little bit of the sun rise.. took a pic.. then went back to bed lol..

Def a highlight from the holidays! i want to back to dive properly...

K and i only did the discovery dive..2 x 40min dives, 15m deep and they showed us the basics of the regulators, how to clear your masks etc etc....

i regret not staying longer.. getting the open water diving license and diving in sipadan.... anyways.. something to add to my list :)

Staying in "huts" over water ... TICK!!!
