Myung-Ga BBQ

The other night we went to eastwood for korean bbq.. was great...seated on the floor felt very traditional.. but we didnt cook ourselves.. due to "smelly" reasons

smashed mostly everything except the fish (pictured centre).. it was HOT!... i thought it was mostly noodles but turned out to be bean spourts

Highway Cont'd

So we decided to do another "excursion". Pre-hand B kindly invited us over for dinner.. on the menu.. a low carb, high protein chow down..

Eventually the other B rocked up... late *cough cough* and we eventually made it out.. weather wasnt the best so we only got a few snaps in...

More testing

So ive got the camera ...now what to shoot was the real question. Hmm at home was quite boring.. but i tried my best to give it a go?!?! i guess if anything was just practise? so practising with the 50mm it was (pic taken with g10) i had the bike out.. might as well shoot it...
something i have to get used to.. no zoom... i was standing soo far back lol

The lens is REALLY shallow

im happy with the USM.. seems to focus fast enough

Hopefully more occasions will arise soon enough.. i want to know the ins and outs before asia :)practise makes perfect....but in my case practise practise and more practise

Manly "Van" Dam

We managed to get ourselves along to manly dam on the weekend! was a nice ride... took it pretty easy.. 1.5hrs for a loop lol..

whilst in the general vacinity we also took the oppo to snorkle @ shelley beach. J joined us for lunch and a swim.. wish i had pics.. amazing..

I even caught a glimpse of a blue groper! big fish

Astroboy

@ SOP there are currently free outdoor movies. We went to check out Astroboy, a movie which briefly showed at the cinemas but was quickly taken away.. didnt see it out much anyways..

Since most of us grew up with astroboy we decided to go check it out.. it was on for the young.. and old.. We made a brief stop over @ granville to pick up some charcoal chicken pre-movieWent down quite nicely actually.. H sporting a quarter chickenwe got there slightly early to grab a good position.. so then just snapped away....

as we were in "western sydney" we were trying to "fit in"... i think we did a pretty good job...westside 4 Lyfe yo...

a "special" look for that "special" someone..lol

as the movie was about to start it continued to get more and more crowded... lucky from J's advice we had "claimed" a large section of turf

The movie was alright... maybe 4/5 out of 10.... i wouldnt have wanted to pay for that..but at the same time it was entertaining..

Welcome to the family

Just added another to the family. Ive wanted one for a while now... enough research... so i picked one up.

the 50D it was.
lenses lenses lenses??? .... went with the 50mm 1.4. wow its fast.. of course not as fast as the 1.2
but i dont have that kind of money to burn haha

hoping for more DOF and easier shooting in low light conditions...

well at least its come now.. practise practise practise.. ready for holidays :))))

...and yes.. i think im a canon fanboy

The Burn

Can you feel the burn?Went cycling the other day.. a healthy 62.2kms... Epping to Cabramatta & back.
Was slightly cloudy/sunny and didnt think much of it. Only applied sun block to the arms and the face... didnt think about the legs... above is the result :S

all in all was a good day.. the ride, the pork roll & sugar cane (YUM), the rain (slight scary on road tyres :S)...

thanks for the company K...lets do it again soon!

Bokeh??

So B got me out to shoot some Bokeh Style... they forgot all the DIY stuff to bring so out went that idea... so off it was just to shoot the city scape...ive seen some pretty cool bokeh, so was keen to shoot.. but fail...

So we got there to shoot... whilst Bs were shooting properly.. i went "out of focus"...

A ferry came by.... can you see it???? Yea alot of people (including my dad) were like.. how is that a photo?? it just looks out of focus...yes... it is out of focus.. but its the style that count lol... anyways click HERE for what Bokeh is...

Happy 2010!

Happy New Year.... bring on 2010!
NYE we headed to Lex's house for a BBQ and fireworks...
It was also's B's bday... happy bday mate... another year older, another year wiser! Celebrations all around!

Lex by profession is a chef... he made us his seafood paella with wagyu sausage! yum!
On with the wagyu steak...

For the 9pm show we were down by the water...test shots for the evening

Only the tops of the fireworks could be seen, however i wasnt complaining.. the location, the food, the company was awesome.... couldnt have been better :)

We also were constructing our own fireworks as demonstrated by J & S...

+ used up alot of my older fireworks from maybe 5 years ago :S... still good tho :)

Midnight struck and we headed back up to his verandah.. slightly better views
